The 23rd Annual Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant Finals
A celebration of colors, music, and splendor ensued at the prestigious Treasure Island Hotel and Casino Theater. Sounds of trumpets echoed through the air while energetic salsa dancers performed onstage. The week of rehearsals, and preliminary events lead up to an impressive evening as 102 beautifully diverse contestants then danced through the crowd and downpour of confetti, during the opening number of this Carnivale themed affair.
With long ruffled skirts and choreographed moves - the ladies, representing countries from across the globe, joined together one last time for the 23rd annual Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant Finals presented by TRIMSPA on April 17th, 2006. Moments before the 17 semi-finalists were made known, announcer Jack Walker, took time out to belt out a few notes and serenade the girls during the evening gown competition.
The top five winners from left to right are: 1st Runner Up - St. Maarten, 4th Runner Up - Hong Kong, 2006 Queen - Austin Texas, USA, 2nd Runner Up - Caracus Venezuela, 3rd Runner Up - St. Petersburg Russia.St. Maarten, St. Maarten! As flags waved in the air, the girls clenched each others hands tight. Who would be the new queen? The announcement was bitter sweet, as former queen Charmain Espinosa, crowned the new Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Winner, Miss Kristen Achee, from Austin, Texas USA.
Congratulations go out to Miss Achee and to each and every participant for all their hard work this year!
The Mirage Hotel and Casinos Volcano, lying amidst tranquil waterfalls and lush vegetation, is a Las Vegas signature attraction, and served as a spectacular backdrop for the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant photo shoots and television filming. The events were filmed by Sterling Productions in conjunction with Bennett Productions, Inc., for an upcoming one-hour televised special that will broadcast nationally in the spring/summer of 2006. Miss Congeniality was awarded to Miss Brandy Leaver, Honolulu Hawaii, USA.
Miss Photogenic was awarded to Miss Vanessa Blouin, Laval Canada.
Bennett Productions Awards were awarded to Miss Vanessa Blouin, Laval Canada; Miss Anya Monzikova, St. Petersburg Russia; Miss Kristen Achee, Austin TX USA; Miss Alicia Brinson, St. Croix Virgin Islands; and Miss Suzanne Le, Singapore.
EarthCam Awards were awarded to Miss Tala Stalling, St. Maarten; Miss Vanessa Blouin, Laval Canada; Miss Michaela Taschnerova, Prague Czech Republic; Miss Liliana Vargas Vallarino, Panama; Miss Kristen Achee, Austin TX USA; Miss Natalie Weston, London England; Miss Jessica Solek, Foxwoods CT USA; Miss Anya Monzikova, St. Petersburg Russia; Miss Sanda Nilsson, Stockholm Sweden; and Miss Rebecca Dipietro, Daytona Beach FL USA.
Hawaiian Tropic Zone Awards were awarded to Miss Vanessa Blouin, Laval Canada; Miss Jennipher Ratcliffe, Cuzco Peru; Miss Anna Lieckalnina, Lativa; Miss Nadia Theoduloz, Uruguay; Miss Anya Monzikova, St. Petersburg Russia; Miss Sanda Nilsson, Stockholm Sweden; Miss Raluca Firanescu, Bucharest Romania; and Miss Maili Nomm, Estonia.
Treasure Island Awards were awarded to Miss Jessica Solek, Foxwoods CT USA; Miss Erica Leonard, Krakow Poland; and Miss Alexis Zhang, Beijing China.
Trimspa Dreambody Award was awarded to Miss Jessica Solek, Foxwoods CT USA.
